A special judge in Beed found “significant prima facie evidence” linking key accused in the sarpanch murder case to a crime syndicate, suggesting deeper organised criminal involvement rather than an isolated act. The court’s remarks came as part of ongoing proceedings under laws targeting organised crime, which strengthens the prosecution’s case against alleged perpetrators and highlights the severity of the conspiracy behind the brutal killing.

Man Arrested for Wife’s Killing in Beed Farm Dispute

Police in Beed district apprehended a man who allegedly murdered his wife and tried to pass it off as a heart attack. According to investigators, the accused struck his 45-year-old wife on the head with a wooden stick during a domestic argument and then attempted to conceal the crime by taking her body to another village for cremation. Suspicious behavior led the Bardapur police — together with Degloor officers — to intervene before the funeral could proceed. The victim was taken for autopsy, and the husband was taken into custody. Officials say the investigation is ongoing to uncover the motive and any broader issues of domestic violence that led to the killing.
